"We Can't Be Sure if He Was Tied to A Terrorist Group"

A young man recently killed 4 marines at a recruitment center.

The news media has been telling me, every time I've heard of this since that event took place, that they just can't figure out what his motivation was. Most explicitly, they've said that they can't be sure if he has "ties to a terrorist organization," or "ties to ISIS."

Excuse me, but isn't this missing the point? I doubt it matters whether a drive-by shooting has ties to the Crip gang, Hell's Angels or the Italian Mob for it to count as gang violence. It either is, or isn't. Likewise, it's either terrorism or not terrorism -- whether he has "ties to an existing terrorist organization," while useful for preventing future attacks, is a massive red herring. It's as if the talking heads think we can't call it terrorism unless the guy went to Syria to be trained by ISIS.

Well, what would help you to decide whether he engaged in terrorism?

The powers that be are afraid of using "profiling" lest it be "discriminatory," as if law enforcement officials are forbidden from using their best judgment. But I am under no such limitation. Let's profile this guy.

His name: Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez . While a name is not in itself a prophetic sign of what a person will do with their life, at this stage in the clash of civilizations, there are very few Jihadists going by the name "Bill Spencer," "John Smith," or "Alan Freedman." Cultural background matters. It gives insight into who named you -- clearly devout, culturally muslim parents. This means that you would have grown up being told that Islam is the true religion. This has bearing on his motives, as will be shown further down.

OF COURSE, there is a phenomenon of western terrorists changing their names. If Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez is not his name given at birth, but one he chose for himself, that is significant, because it showcases his zealousness, which would be further evidence.

Let's profile further.

His face:

That beard. Look at that beard. While facial hair is often a matter of personal style, there are two groups of people I have encountered in recent years who show an above-average predilection toward growing (often unruly) beards: Duck Dynasty fanboys, and muslims.

It should be noted that sikhs and muslims both have religious devotion to the ideal of not-ever-cutting-your-facial-hair. I don't know where this started, but you can't deny it exists. Whereas a face full of beard is not a conclusive evidence for being a terrorist, and no one in their right mind would ever say such a thing, it remains a fact that nearly every muslim terrorist sports a full beard. And it's for religious reasons. Therefore, a full beard should give you pause, to consider, could this guy be religiously conservative? In other words, could this guy potentially be a terrorist?

Keep your eyes open and see if you don't also observe an eerie correlation. I can predict with near 100% certainty that the next, no, the next two, no, the next dozen Lone-Wolf Islamic terrorists striking in the West will have neckbeards like this guy Abdulazeez. And if I'm wrong at all, I suspect I'll only be off by one.

Why should this be? Because it is a religious obligation for muslim men. If you're a male muslim, and you actually take your religion seriously, you must grow a beard. Not only that, but you cannot shave or trim at all.

Here is a pro-muslim apologetical website affirming as much!
Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri:  "The Prophet said, 'There will emerge from the East some people who will recite the Qur'an but it will not exceed their throats and who will go out of (renounce) the religion (Islam) as an arrow passes through the game, and they will never come back to it unless the arrow, comes back to the middle of the bow (by itself) (i.e., impossible). The people asked, 'What will their signs be?' He said, 'Their sign will be the habit of shaving (of their beards). (Fateh Al-Bari, Page 322, Vol. 17th) [translation of Sahih Bukhari]
Evidently only the faithless fail to grow beards. This literally says a beardless muslim is a fake muslim.

You'll note, of course, that the personal opinions of the apologist at that link conflict with the clear texts that he cites. My main purpose of linking to a muslim blogger is so that no one reading this will have an excuse to think that there is source bias against Islam. There were several other hadith listed at that link that emphasize that Mohammed made growing a beard a religious obligation. That is, coincidentally I'm sure, why the most devout muslim men sport beards.

Pure coincidence.

The fact that the terrorist in question traveled to the Middle East is helpful information but ultimately unnecessary. Listing that would give further credence to the false narrative that claims that traveling to the ME to be 'radicalized' must happen for a person to be a terrorist. In fact, terrorism is in how you kill, not in where you traveled.

The beard and the name don't prove that the guy is a terrorist. What they give strong credibility to is the suspicion that he's a devout muslim. All that remains, then, is to see what devout muslims might read that would cause them to either support or reject the murder of American soldiers.

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...
but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful.   And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone.  But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)"
Quran (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."
Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home). Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward "
Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"
Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah"
Quran (9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."
Quran (9:14) - "Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people."
Quran (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."
Quran (9:73) - "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination."
Quran (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."
Quran (48:29) - "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves"
Quran (61:4) - "Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way"

......Oh.

Could it be, that devout Islamic faith is a predictor of terroristic violence? Could it be that a wise law enforcement protocol would involve paying closer attention to those with heavy facial hair?

Fear the beard, Yankees. Fear the beard...
